Performance Testing in Monticello

Peak power on the way up and on the way down. Jump height and the mechanics behind it. Left leg against right, quantified. Maximal force off the floor. Recorded on VALD ForceDecks, so what you take home is data instead of a coach's impression.

$100 — a 30-minute test, plus 15-minute retests at 6 and 12 weeks.

Know Your Numbers

Stop Training on Feel

Most athletes have no idea whether last season made them faster. Testing turns that into a number you can train against.

We use VALD testing technology to measure strength, power and speed directly. Force output, left versus right, jump mechanics — recorded, not estimated.

Test at the start of a block. Test again at the end. The difference is your programme's report card.

If the numbers have not moved, the programme was wrong. Better to find that out in twelve weeks than in a season.

  1. Baseline

Before anything gets programmed, we measure what you actually produce — power up, power down, and how far the two sides are apart. Everything after this is measured against it.

  2. Retest

Same tests, same conditions, at 6 weeks and again at 12 — both included in the price. Progress you can see on a chart instead of a feeling you are asked to report.

  3. Benchmark

Compare against your own history. Progress means nothing without a reference point, and memory is a bad one.

Measured on VALD ForceDecks — the dual force plate system used by professional sports teams and university clinics.

The Measurements

What Gets Tested

Four measurements, one plate system, the same conditions every time you come back. That last part is what makes the comparison worth anything.

  • Peak Power Output

    Concentric and eccentric

How much power you produce driving up, and how much you absorb coming down. The second half is the half nobody measures — landing and deceleration are where most of the load in a sport actually lives. A stronger athlete on the way up who cannot control the way down is a different training problem, and you cannot see it with a stopwatch.

  • Vertical Jump

Height, and the mechanics behind it

Height is the number everybody wants. The plates give you that, plus how you got it — how fast you loaded, how long you spent on the ground, how the force built through the jump. Two athletes with the same vertical can arrive there completely differently, and they need completely different programmes.

  • Inter-Limb Comparison

    Left versus right, quantified

Two plates, one per foot, so every test reports each side separately. Most people cannot feel a side-to-side difference until it is large, and a squat or a jump hides it well — the strong side quietly takes more. The number tells you how far apart they are today, and whether that gap is closing.

  • Isometric Pull

Maximal force, no bar to fail

You pull against an immovable bar and the plates read the force. No missed lift, no grinding rep, no technique breakdown at the top of a heavy single — which makes it repeatable and low-risk enough to run often. Straightforward maximal strength, on a number you can retest whenever you want.

All four run on VALD ForceDecks — a dual force plate system used by professional sports teams and university clinics. One device, four measurements, identical setup every retest. It is the only testing equipment here, and it is the only equipment this page will ever list until another one is physically in the building.

Who It's For

You Do Not Need to Be a Pro

You need a reason to want the number. Here are the four most common ones.

  • Athletes

In season or out of it, at any level. Test before an off-season block and again at the end, and you find out whether the work you just did was the right work — before the season answers that question for you.

  • Teams and Programs

Test the roster in one session and every athlete leaves with their own numbers, on the same equipment, under the same conditions. Coaches get something more useful than a stopwatch and a hunch when deciding who needs what.

  • Coming Back From an Injury

Rehab here or anywhere else. Testing shows where the injured side sits against the other one in real numbers, instead of asking you whether it feels ready. Worth knowing before you go full speed at it again.

Testing is measurement, not medical clearance. Clearance to return comes from whoever is managing your injury.

  • Anyone Training Seriously

No team, no coach, no sport required. If you lift or run and you have spent the last twelve weeks working at something, you have earned the right to know whether it moved. Most people never find out.

Pricing

One Price. Three Data Points.

Testing once tells you where you are. Testing three times tells you whether the work is working.

$100

Everything below is included. There is no second invoice at week six.

  1. Baseline — 30 minutes

The full test on the VALD ForceDecks. Power up and power down, jump height and the mechanics behind it, left leg against right, maximal pull. You leave with the numbers and what they mean.

  2. Retest at 6 Weeks — 15 minutes

Same tests, same plates, same setup. Halfway through a block is early enough to change something if a number is going the wrong way.

  3. Retest at 12 Weeks — 15 minutes

Three points on the same chart, twelve weeks apart. That is the difference between thinking the training worked and knowing it.
